CIPR North East Group
Welcome to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations event booking website for the North East of England regional group
We are PR profssionals in the region who vounteer to run a varied programme of events throughout the year, designed to develop our professional skills, stay up-to-date with major issues in the region and the profession, and provide opportunities both to network, and to enjoy ourselves!
Our aim is to support members in the region and to promote the value of professional PR to organisations and businesses. We’re committed to delivering opportunities so our members can earn CPD points each year through attendance at CIPR North East events.
There’s never been a better opportunity for PR to assert its authority as a strategic management function while delivering a real return on investment. It’s important we demonstrate to employers and clients alike the value a skilled and highly professional PR practitioner can bring to an organisation. We have a responsibility to demonstrate that PR is more far reaching than just media relations; it encompasses other key aspects such as digital and social media, internal communications, issues management, public affairs, event management, and much more. Of course, it’s not just the outputs that count but also the outcomes and out takes, with PR activity encompassing the proper measurement and evaluation of campaigns against objectives, in line with overarching organisational strategies.
As well as working with current PR practitioners, we also welcome student members and support CIPR-recognised courses, in the region and those studying for CIPR professional qualifications with nesma, through a series of student-focused events throughout the year. Many committee members are happy to volunteer their time in giving guest lectures, taking part in career clinics or answering dissertation questions and surveys.
